About Pure Environs
Reducing what a building costs to heat, and what it emits
Pure Environs installs renewable heating and power systems for homes and commercial properties, and carries out insulation work alongside it.
Why we do this
Two things drive the work we do. The first is carbon: heating and powering buildings accounts for a large share of the United Kingdom's emissions, and changing how a building is heated is one of the more direct ways to reduce them. The second is cost. Poorly insulated homes with ageing heating systems are expensive to run, and the households least able to afford that are usually the ones living in them.
Those two things pull in the same direction. A building that loses less heat needs a smaller heating system, costs less to run, and produces fewer emissions. That is the reasoning behind how we approach a job: reduce the demand first where it is worth doing, then size the system to what is actually needed rather than to what is easiest to sell.
Where we have come from
Pure Environs has worked under successive government energy efficiency schemes, delivering insulation and heating measures for households that qualified for support under them. That work covered measures including loft, cavity wall and internal wall insulation, alongside heating improvements.
Those schemes have since closed. The government has announced the Warm Homes Plan as a successor, though the detail has not yet been published. We will say what we can offer under it once the rules are confirmed, rather than before.
The core of the business today is solar PV and air source heat pump installation, with battery storage and EV charge points fitted alongside them.

How we work
- We survey before we quote
- Every quotation follows a visit to the property. For a heat pump that means a room-by-room heat loss calculation rather than an estimate from floor area. Quoting from a photograph or a phone call produces a number that changes once someone actually looks at the building.
- We size to the building, not the catalogue
- System sizing comes out of the survey findings. Where insulation would meaningfully reduce heat loss and is worth doing, we will say so, even though it means a smaller and less expensive heating system.
- We tell you what we found
- If the roof is not suitable, if shading will hold output down, or if the supply needs work before a charge point can go in, that goes in the quotation. It is cheaper for everyone to know before the work starts.
- We leave the paperwork behind
- Electrical certificates, commissioning records, manufacturer warranties and guarantee documentation are handed over at the end of the job, not chased for afterwards.

- Microgeneration Certification Scheme
- Certification for renewable heat and power installations, and a requirement for Boiler Upgrade Scheme work.
- TrustMark
- The government-endorsed quality scheme for work carried out in and around the home.
- Gas Safe Register
- The statutory register for engineers working on gas appliances and pipework.
