Solar Panels

Solar PV generates electricity from daylight, reducing the amount you buy from your supplier. We survey the roof, model the likely output for your specific property and orientation, and install a system sized to how you actually use electricity.

Air Source Heat Pumps

An air source heat pump takes heat from the outside air and moves it into your heating system. Because it moves heat rather than creating it, it delivers more heat energy than the electrical energy it consumes. Getting that efficiency in practice depends on the design, which is where most of the work is.

Battery Storage

A home battery stores electricity so you can use it when you need it rather than when it is generated. Fitted with solar, it holds daytime generation for the evening. Fitted on its own, it can charge from the grid on a cheaper overnight tariff.

EV Chargers

A dedicated home charge point charges an electric vehicle faster and more safely than a three-pin socket. Where there is solar or a battery already fitted, a charger can be set to use your own generation first.

Insulation. We also install loft, cavity wall and internal wall insulation. Reducing heat loss lowers the amount of heating a property needs, which matters if you are considering a heat pump.

How the systems work together

Solar, storage and heating are one system, not four purchases

Each of these can be installed on its own. Fitted together, what matters is how they interact: solar generates during the day, a battery holds what you do not use, and the heat pump and charge point draw from that store rather than from the grid at peak rates.

A battery stores surplus generation and discharges it back through the inverter. What happens, in order

We do not quote from a photograph or a phone call. Every job starts with a survey of the building, because the design depends on it.

    Enquiry

    You tell us about the property and what you are considering. The more you can say about the building, your current heating and how you use electricity, the more useful our first response is.

  2. 02

    Property assessment

    We visit the property and survey it properly. For a heat pump that means a room-by-room heat loss calculation and an inspection of the existing radiators, pipework and hot water arrangement. For solar it means the roof structure, orientation, pitch and shading, and the consumer unit. For a battery or charge point it means the incoming supply and existing electrical installation.

  3. 03

    System design

    We design the system from the survey findings rather than from a standard specification. That covers equipment selection, sizing, positions, cable and pipe routes, and for a heat pump the design flow temperature the whole system is built around. Where there is more than one sensible approach, we set out the options and what separates them.

  4. 04

    Quotation

    You receive a written quotation covering the equipment specified, the work involved, what is included and what is not, and any grant funding you may be eligible for. Anything we found at survey that affects the job is stated in it.

  5. 05

    Installation

    We agree dates with you in advance and tell you what to expect, including where scaffolding is needed and which services will be interrupted. Our engineers carry out the work.

  6. 06

    Commissioning

    The system is tested, commissioned and set up. For a heat pump that includes balancing the system and setting the weather compensation curve, which is what determines whether it runs efficiently in practice. We record the commissioning figures.

  7. 07

    Handover and aftercare

    We show you how the controls work and hand over the documentation: electrical certificates, commissioning records, manufacturer warranties and any guarantee paperwork. You know who to call if something is not right.

Grants and funding

Boiler Upgrade Scheme

Government funding towards a heat pump is available to some households in England and Wales. We check the current position rather than repeating what was true last year.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme

A government grant towards replacing a fossil fuel heating system with a heat pump. It is paid to your installer and comes off the price of the job, so you do not claim it back yourself.
